In Viareggio, we import teak from Malaysia for high-quality marine furnishings.

Arredoteak specializes in the artisanal production of fine woods, particularly teak from Asia. The company specializes in a particular type of wood from Malaysia.

Teak wood

Teak is a tropical tree with a cylindrical trunk, reaching a height of thirty to forty meters and a diameter of one and a half meters. Teak is a hardwood, with unique color hues ranging from straw-yellow to red, but tending to fade over time. It contains oleosin, an oily substance that provides high resistance to humidity and insect attack, making it the best wood for outdoor use.

Malaysian teak

Arredoteak favors Malaysian teak because it is the highest-quality wood available. For this reason, the company provides clients with a quality data sheet for the raw material. To best plan the project phases and guarantee the client the highest quality of the raw material, Arredoteak sets a timeframe of approximately six months for careful selection.

Carefully selected wood

The material selection phases begin with the choice of the logs: the logs are laid horizontally on the ground and an identification card is attached to their base, specifying the batch number, grade, length, and weight in tons. By examining the cards and assessing the perceived quality, an initial selection is made. The second phase involves cutting the wood into planks, which are then dried and naturally seasoned to stabilize the color and achieve a uniform finish. Finally, a further evaluation is performed to eliminate any defects, and the wood is shipped to Italy. At the Arredoteak headquarters, the customer will give final approval for the material, potentially leading to the start of the work.
